Our Story

As two Chinese first-generation international students who are passionate about fashion and design, Open Accent founders Elena Li and Ariane Cheng were unsatisfied with their own online shopping experience in the past 7 years of studying in the U.S. - many U.S. brands didn’t meet their style needs. However, the overseas shipping problem, among others, made it extremely difficult to use popular Chinese shopping platforms like Taobao in the US.

Last year, they started to brainstorm and with the hope of providing a solution to connect many independent female designers in Asia to buyers in the U.S. As a result, Open Accent was born to answer this problem.
